Abstract
"Breeze Blooms" is an interactive installation that merges nature with technology to create a unique personal experience. Inspired by the pervasive yet unseen force of wind, this piece allows individuals to capture and visualize the essence of winds from places that hold personal significance. Using the dynamic and transformative power of wind, which can bend branches or gently stir fallen leaves, Breeze Blooms translates these experiences into visual movements within a beautifully crafted box. By incorporating flowers as a symbol of beauty and transformation, the installation reflects on how our journeys and interactions with natural forces shape who we are today. The device uses real-time wind data, fetched via a web API, to animate the flowers based on wind speeds from up to five chosen locations, offering a vivid celebration of past travels and experiences.
Technical Details
Breeze Blooms utilizes a web interface to gather wind data from selected locations through APIs. Users can input up to five meaningful places, and the corresponding wind speeds are transmitted to the device via web-Bluetooth using the p5.ble library. Inside the box, a Nano IOT-33 microcontroller receives this data and activates the movement of flowers, mirroring the wind's intensity and pattern. This interaction is not only a technical achievement but also a poetic expression of the wind's impact on our lives.
