Spatial Diary is a web-based, self-journaling tool that empowers individuals to capture, preserve, and annotate 3D elements of the spaces/objects they want to hold in addition to regular journaling mediums.

Project Description
Spatial Diary is a web-based journaling tool that empowers individuals to capture, preserve, and annotate 3D elements of the spaces/objects they want to hold in addition to regular journaling mediums. In today’s digital age, people document their stories using texts, images, sounds, and even 3D scans. Yet, spatial elements—integral to many memories—are often challenging to reconstruct and share as part of storytelling. The platform allows for multimodal documentation, enabling users to combine texts, images, sounds, and 3D scans. This layered approach deepens the storytelling experience, offering a way to revisit, share, and even reconstruct meaningful spaces over time.
At its core, the project explores the relationship between memory and space, with a particular focus on the evolving concept of home through life transitions. As people move between spaces, how do their spatial memories shift? What aspects do they choose to preserve—the architecture of the space, or the objects within it? Spatial Diary invites users to reflect on these questions by capturing the emotional and sensory essence of their environments.
Looking ahead, Spatial Diary aims to integrate with existing platforms and services, expanding the everyday use of 3D elements in personal documentation. As spatial computing continues to advance, the potential to reorganize and reimagine 3D memories in meaningful ways becomes even more powerful.
