Project Description
Echuu is an AI-native VTuber system that explores new forms of performance and identity through real-time interaction, genetic algorithms, and audience co-evolution. Rather than being puppeted by a human, Echuu evolves based on audience input, environmental stimuli, and embedded personality “DNA.” This project reimagines the relationship between performer and viewer by allowing the AI character to mutate, develop preferences, and trace a lineage of behavior shaped by its fanbase.
Technical Details
Built with Unity WebGL and Multimodal-AI API, Echuu integrates a Genetic Algorithm system (mutation, crossover, selection) that evolves character traits during livestreams. Each generation creates new variations based on user input, which are evaluated and selected in real time. The system logs generational phenotype changes and environmental stimuli using custom scripts and database logging. Character visuals are animated using VRM and uLipSync integration for voice interaction.
