Rather than externalizing volumetric data onto an object, Horizon inverts the model: participants enter the sphere itself, surrounded by a live projection of the space they inhabit, rendered back to them in real time. The room becomes both camera and screen, a continuous boundary where presence is captured, processed, and reprojected onto the same surface from which it originates, producing an inside-out mirror of the immediate present.  <\/p>\n<h2>Technical Details<\/h2>\n<p>\n    Technically, Horizon integrates a central 360\u00b0 camera, real-time equirectangular processing, and spherical projection mapping to create a low-latency feedback environment legible from any position within the room. The camera and projectors occupy the same space, making the system inherently recursive: every element of the room, including the projection hardware itself, enters the image. Conceptually, the work draws on traditions of closed-circuit video installation, cybernetic feedback systems, and the phenomenology of mirrored environments. By collapsing capture and display into a shared physical volume, Horizon proposes a model of spatial media oriented toward recursive self-perception and embodied co-presence.  <\/p>\n<h2>Research\/Context<\/h2>\n<p>\n    Horizon sits at the intersection of volumetric capture, spatial computing, and media art practices concerned with shared perception. It draws on precedents such as light-field and volumetric display research, telepresence systems, and projection-based installations that externalize digital environments into physical space. Conceptually, the project aligns with cybernetic art and feedback-oriented systems, where human behavior becomes both input and subject of the work.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Horizon argues that spatial computing becomes socially meaningful when volumetric perception is shared through physical artifacts rather than isolated in headsets.
