Frameworks: An Exploration of Procedurally Generated Art in Physical Spaces

Frameworks delves into merging procedurally generated art with physical art spaces. The artwork is not confined to its own boundaries, but instead, evolves with the environment and the viewer. Through a series of installations, the artist incorporates reflective materials and shadows that interact with light and are designed to spark endless interpretations by the viewer.

Abstract

A series of three installations, "Frameworks" is aptly named to serve a dual purpose. The title not only alludes to the artist's endeavor of bringing generative art in to the physical space through the creation of a process or "framework", but it also encapsulates the autobiographical nature of each piece. Each artwork draws upon the artist's personal experiences and perspectives, making them an integral part of the creative process. The installations represent a deep exploration of the human experience through the artist's personal lens. "Frameworks: Of Time" uses rotating frames adorned with dichroic prisms to symbolize the complexity of an individual's past experiences and how they shape our perception of the present. "Frameworks: Of The Mind" delves into the intricacies of the human thought process, using pinball-like obstacles to symbolize the hurdles that thoughts must overcome before being articulated. Finally, "Frameworks: Of A Place" celebrates the beauty of the urban landscape and the people who shape it, with four unique buildings featuring varied aesthetics, textures, and interplay of light. Each of these installations offers a unique perspective on the human experience, inviting audiences to engage with the artwork and contribute to its evolving significance.
