Now that we know the basics of projection mapping, let’s augment ITP with light!
After a quick 15 min refresher/overview on projection mapping, this will be a hands-on session as we projection map video, animations, code, live video, data & more... to walls, pipes, ceiling vents, windows, pillars— if you can see it, you can map it!
Come prepared with pre-made content if you have a specific idea, or show up and make something on the fly. Still don’t feel comfortable with mapping? The best way to learn is by doing!
By the end of the session, we’ll have a finished collaborative project: an immersive light collage!
Everyone who contributes will be credited with their involvement in our ITP Camp project — FILL THE ROOM
If you missed the previous mapping workshop, you can read my growing slew of notes here: Augmenting the World With Light – Projection Mapping Notes.
Name inspired by the old riddle “The Wisest Son†:
An old man wanted to leave all of his money to one of his three sons. He gave each of them a few coins and told them to buy something that would be able to fill their living room. The first son bought as much hay as he could afford, but there was not enough to fill the room. The second bought a ton of feathers, but they still did not fill the room. The third son pulled two things out of his pocket, filled the room, and obtained his father's fortune.
What were the two things that the man bought and what was able to fill the room?

@leandra Yay! I hope so, we had a great little group at the end of the previous workshop that inspired this... bring more poetry and things!

Hey Craig (& others interested)- If you are looking for a quick mapper and only have your ipad I just recently stumbled across this app (Ithink it may have been the previous Dynamapper app) https://www.optoma.co.uk/projection-mapper
It\'s $4.99 but is pretty decent. You will need an adapter from ipad to HDMI (projector) or you may be able to do wirelesly thru appletv/airplay or googlecast (you\'d need to do some research).
