Create 3D forms from raw data using Processing and turn them into tangible objects using a 3D printer. We will cover how to work with data in Processing, how to 3D model based on data, and the process of turning sketch into an actual object. At the end of the class, you will get a ready-to-3d-print model of your own data.
We will look at the topic of 3D printing outside the confines of 3D modeling software, enabling you to work with 3D printers in new ways.
- An example set of data will be provided at the class, but feel free to bring data which is meaningful to you.
- We will code together at the workshop so you don't need to necessarily know about Processing, but general understanding in programming language would help you to enjoy the workshop.
- You will be able to use 3D printers at ITP to print your model from the class.
