Python for beginners

Python is a clear and powerful programming language used in domains from digital humanities to artificial intelligence to video games. In this up-and-running-style workshop, you'll get a quick introduction to how the language works while learning how to perform simple text-analysis tasks (like counting words in a text file). No previous programming experience is required, but the workshop is designed to also be appropriate and informative for experienced programmers who just want to get an idea of what Python is like.
