Dates, Fees, and Opportunities

Dates

ITP Camp 2019 will run Friday, May 31st through Wednesday, June 26th featuring a hearty trail mix of Camp-led (organized by the Camp Director and Camp staff) and Camper-led (organized by Camp attendees) workshops, talks, discussions, field trips, experiments, hackathons, and more!

Note: Applications will close when we hit our target number. Apply now!

ITP Camp will be closing applications on Thursday, May 17 at 5pm.

Fees

The flat-rate fee for Camp 2019 is $1400.

Discounts

The discounts we are offering this year are as follows:

• ITP Alumni: 75% <-- special 1 time discount to celebrate the last ITP Camp at 721 Broadway!!!
• IMA Shanghai Alumni: 50%
• ITP Camp Alumni: 25%
• NYU Faculty: 25%

A maximum of 2 discounts may be used per camper, except for the ITP Alumni discount which cannot be combined.

Note: there is no discount for current ITP or IMA students.

Refunds

Fees are 100% refundable before May 31st and 50% refundable before June 3rd.

Summer Housing for ITP Campers

Finding housing in NYC for short time frame can be hard. Past campers have had luck with Craigslist, AirBNB, and the Listings Project. ITP Campers are also eligible to apply for housing in the NYU dormitories.

Opportunities

Teaching Credits for Campers

All registered campers are invited to organize sessions, big and small. If your session meets an area of big demand and need among campers you can receive partial or full refunds as acknowledgement of your contributions. These refunds are credited at rate of $100/session hour. "In Demand" is determined by the camp director & camp counselors based on some or all of these criteria:

• the topic was requested by other campers
• 10 or more attendees who stay for the duration of the session
• significant preparation on the part of the session leader
• positive feedback from those who attended

Reimbursements are issued after the close of camp. If a camper's credit value exceeds their camp fee total, additional compensation will not be provided.

Instigators Program

The deadline for Instigator applications was Friday, March 15, 2019. We are no longer accepting Instigator applications.

ITP Camp also has a fellowship program called "The Instigators". The Instigators are a select group of people who get a free ride to ITP Camp because they will Make Things Happen, whether it be leading a group project, community building, skillsharing, etc etc. In addition to leading some of their own activities they will also be called upon occasionally to support particular Camp events or initiatives. The Instigators are expected to attend ITP Camp for the whole month and be present at ITP at least 4 or 5 days a week.

Guest Session Leaders

If you can't attend ITP Camp but are still interested in teaching a workshop, giving a lecture, or leading another type of activity, you can propose a session here.

Please note that Guest Session Leaders are invited to the closing show but are not permitted to attend other ITP Camp sessions or activities. If you want to attend camp (which also enables you to lead sessions), please apply!
