✨ Tor is an open-source, privacy-centric tool that's used around the world to access websites and share information securely. In this workshop, we'll focus exclusively on onion sites (aka hidden services), which are websites that are only accessible through the Tor network. We'll explore Tor's potential as a tool for playful and DIY internet-ing.

✨ We'll walk through how one computer can request information from another computer without either one revealing their IP address. (As a web developer, this still blows my mind!!) Then we'll go through the process of configuring and running onion sites from our own computers.

✨ The technical concepts and demo that we'll cover in this session are more intermediate. It's designed for people who are familiar with how a simple web server works and are comfortable running terminal commands. With that said, if you don't feel like you have the technical background but are deeply curious, please come anyway. :) I'll do my best to adapt to our group.

✨ Bring a website you'd like to use. Alternatively, I'll have a sample site and web server you can configure and run.

This is the second part of two workshops exploring Tor and technology skillshare as an exercise in imagination. The first one is an introduction to what Tor is and how it works.
