YES we were….it was a total mock up and rough version of what we wanted to show, but I feel that it showed some of our main points.
It showed off the idea of unlocking items to show hidden surprises of artifacts, whether it was an image, a sound, or a dialogue from letters.
It showed a way that we could link various visitor findings together and how their key could be a voting tool or as someone else said a takeaway.
I don’t think the idea of everyone being brought down into the archives or the place where everything is located deep under the library was portrayed very well and it didn’t link to the cabinet portion. (but a couple people understood!)
Also there was one quick idea that I loved, which was the selfie shot you were in when looking at the different pieces because it brings you into the artifacts and then having a collection of these photos outside the exhibit space or somewhere…I feel that this would pull people to come back and search for themselves or get others to come try it out as well.
My personal opinion about this challenge is that we spent way too much time coming up with ideas and ideas and ideas because there wasn’t enough time to go into the details and work out the kinks of our final idea. I think that because there were so many different ideas and no one really wanted to shoot ideas down, more and more kept forming and that kept us from settling on one or two solid ones. That frustrates me because it felt like we couldn’t be honest with each other or be critical with our opinions. but once everyone got their task, the tension of “too many ideas” slipped away, I think that was the most fun I got from this project; building out from the laser cut keys to the cabinet from the shop, to learning how to put up projectors.
