SMALL FRY:
- MOFAD: Aroma Blocks Game: teaches kids about compounds that make up aroma and flavor. Towers of rotate-able blocks that can be recombine to create real or “fantasy” foods.
- CLIMATE: Bouncy Castle to end Climate Change: generates energy from bouncy kids to make difference lights respond and also charge parents phones.
TWO OR MORE:
- MOFAD: Aroma trading card game – “what’s cooking”
- CLIMATE: “Future – Present Planetorium” – augmented reality game, 2 or more people to play, asks about daily usage, footprint, consumption, etc.
- CLIMATE: VR experience: beginning of time from beginning to present. group is prompted: “would you feel comfortable taking one less shower a day?” to future: if people changed based on their answers, what the present/future would look like. then graph/data vis of how things would change. User leaves with a seed that they can plant at the museum itself. Commitment to the future.
HIFI/LOFI:
- Studio started with some questions about traditional focus of museums vs. current and ongoing topics. Asking, what is a museum? Is museum the right word?
- MOFAD: Food truck museum
- “Future Foods” – lofi – Who makes the best BBQ? either a blind taste test or also space it out so that more people can enjoy the BBQ of one place and then the other place. hifi – listerine strips with different flavors. What if you had a gumball machine with regional BBQ flavored gum.
- Exhibition based on flavor combination. hifi – inspired by Watson’s cookbook (IBM’s computer super system). Battle human vs. computer cooking. Visitors judge which one is better. lofi – physically combining fruits/foods.
- CLIMATE: Inside – Out museum. “if we don’t handle climate change, it’s humanity who ends up in a museum”. Goal: something simple that could be done. Paint your roof in a light color. Lo-fi – search for collective action. mission: let people know what can happen at home. In museum courtyard or inside, tent with dark color and tent with lighter color, people walk in and experience the difference in temp for each color. “feel the heat”. Hi-fi – computer game where you have a model of your neighborhood and you can switch the rules from dark color to light color to green roof. think SIM CITY or MINECRAFT.
ON THE GO:
- MOFAD: Aroma food truck. scratch and sniff wall paper room -> scratch and sniff food truck “aroma mobile”. You can go to the food truck, that day the food truck could be serving rice and beans, representing specific food cultures. Food truck could also be an attachment to a bike. Could also exist in a physical museum. Map of NYC: truck will go around city, visitors can eat foods from different cultures that make up NYC’s population. Scratch and sniff bowl, bowl filled with examples of a specific cuisine. On the back side of cards “ricoglicerate” and other compounds found in the foods.
- CLIMATE: Bringing the idea out to the world. Global and people-oriented issue. Intervention and disruption around climate issues. Indian heat wave + hurricane sandy + drought in CA + wildfires in PNW. Community building and collective consciousness. We are the agents of preservation. Taking advantage of mobile technology, apps and news feeds. app that tracks behavior and news voting. displays data in public places like times square, citibike locations, etc. If many people have the app, it would show where all the “museums” are.
