RESIDENT RESEARCHER

Bairui Su is a Chinese creative toolmaker, programmer, and researcher. Bairui originally trained in computer science, which led to a career in data visualization at Ant Group, where he led the development of AntV G2 5.0, an open-source framework for authoring interactive visualizations. He later studied at New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, shifting his practice toward creative coding, experimental interfaces, and human-computer interaction. He is currently an ITP/IMA Post-Doctoral Fellow at NYU. He is interested in programming interfaces, creative coding, data visualization, and tools that make computation more immediate and expressive. He continues to develop Recho, an open-source coding environment that brings live feedback directly into plain-text programs.
