RESIDENT RESEARCHER

Jiayi Li is an experimental animation filmmaker and new media artist working at the intersection of digital worldbuilding, interactive storytelling, and embodied performance. She is currently a research resident at NYU ITP, where she is developing Spring, Worm, Worm, a hybrid immersive experience that reimagines contemporary fairy tales and modern fables through scenographic storytelling and virtual production technologies. 

Her work has been presented at La MaMa Galleria in New York, in collaboration with UAAD and Pixelmouth. With over four years of experience as a 3D artist and visual designer, she has led visual direction for music artists and labels including 88rising. Jiayi holds a BFA in Digital Arts from Pratt Institute and an MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
