RESIDENT RESEARCHER

Hola! I’m Andrés Franco, a.k.a. Tobi, a Colombian engineer, artist, and inventor based in Brooklyn. I hold an MPS from NYU Tisch’s ITP, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Nacional (Bogotá), and I’ve been practicing Capoeira Angola for over 20 years.

My creative practice blends resourcefulness, hands-on fabrication, and sustainable design. I have an intuitive sense of form, movement, and spatial relationships, which I bring into the making of playful, sometimes absurd kinetic sculptures and interactive objects, designed to spark smiles and invite reflection.
