RESIDENT RESEARCHER

Christina Tang is a lighting designer and theater maker trained up from the downtown spaces and experimental lineages of New York City. Her design collaborations span theater, dance, opera, and immersive and site specific experiences, and have been shown across NYC, the U.S., and internationally in Romania, Cuba, South Korea, and the U.K. She can most frequently be found on projects centering new work development, experimental processes, and creative technical solutions for storytelling.

As a creator, she is interested in technology’s ability to express — and elide — systems of labor and connection. She makes sticky shows exploring facets of this topic with her interactive theater company, SOUR MILK.

She is a Resident Researcher at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and an inaugural Artist in Residence at the NYU Production Lab.
