PRODUCTION MENTOR
Gabe Warshaw is a musician, technologist, and the Founder & CEO of Baton, a collaboration platform for unreleased creative material. He is a proud alumnus of ITP and, in addition to his role as a postdoc, also serves as a Founder in Residence at the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute.
Born in NYC, Gabe grew up in the city’s jazz scene, studying at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Manhattan School of Music before attending undergrad at Lawrence University. While there, he studied economics, physics, and played music in the conservatory.
After graduating, he joined Buro Happold’s Cities Practice – an interdisciplinary consulting group of engineers, architects, urban planners, and economists. While there, he worked on an array of climate action, economic development, and transportation infrastructure projects for the public and private sector. Simultaneously, he remained an active member of the city’s music scene, collaborating frequently with many of the city’s top musicians and company’s like Splice. This eventually led him to found his own recording studio in Downtown Brooklyn.
Gabe is a former winner of the NYU Entrepreneurs Challenge, Tandon Future Labs InnoVention Competition, and NYU Demo Day. He is also a Kernel Fellow, Newlab Member, and Techstars Music alumnus.
Whether you’re exploring a new entrepreneurial idea, or already have a product in market, Gabe loves helping students and faculty navigate the startup ecosystem. He is also always available to help with any audio projects and has a soft spot for anything related to Ableton.
