“Think of technology as a verb, not a noun. It provides the tools. Creative people provide imagination.” – Red Burns (April 9, 1925 – August 23, 2013)
On April 9th, alumni, faculty, family, and friends came together to celebrate the life of ITP founder Red Burns on what would have been her 100th birthday. Former students of hers shared advice and stories that have guided them throughout the years and how she changed their lives.
In addition to leading ITP as Chair for thirty years, Red pioneered two-way video tools to bring people together and championed human-centered uses for new technology. We’re so grateful for her vision and how she made ITP the creative and collaborative place it is today!
