RESIDENT RESEARCHER
Nasif is a designer and researcher building hardware that resists the world-effacing nature of contemporary technology. Through data-driven motion, his devices act like instruments for daily life, translating the complex systems that underlie the everyday into legible gestures and forms. Designed to integrate into existing practices, these devices offer a gradual alternative for reconnecting with the world through technology. His recent work has been shown at All Street Gallery, ARTECHOUSE New York, Galerie des Arts Visuels, ARQDIS Pavillion and CUMULUS: The Design After.
As a researcher, Nasif was an undergraduate lecturer at Universidad de los Andes, where he co-founded the Creative Computing Research Group. He was also a member of the research team for Remendar lo Nuevo, recently exhibited at the Memory, Peace and Reconciliation Center in Bogotá. Most recently, he spent summer ‘25 at Atelier Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, collaborating with the R&D team on technical research for the artist’s large-scale public installations.
Nasif holds a Master’s from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and a BA in Design from Universidad de los Andes.
