Daniel Ryan Johnston is a Brooklyn based queer textile artist, accessibility researcher (NYU Ability Project), and creative technologist. Mixing a love of creepy puppets, wearable technology and machine embroidery sculpture, Daniel’s work explores personal experiences with managing mental health, body image and psoriatic arthritis.

As a 2023/2034 Production Mentor, Daniel is available to discuss accessible interpretation, incorporating adaptive and accessible content into projects, and to connect students with resources to support their work. Additionally, Daniel is open and available for project problem solving sessions.

Daniel holds an A.A.S in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, a B.A. in Arts, Entertainment & Media Management from Columbia College Chicago, and a M.P.S. from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University.
