ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The International Student Arts Incubator program is a partnership between the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development’s Creative Career Hub, the Office of Global Services, the Center for Student Life, and the International Student Hub, which invites select international art students from any discipline to create short, new works for public exhibition. The new works are presented in conjunction with major NYC arts organizations at the end of the program.
ISA allows international student artists to develop practical skills relevant to the professionalization of their work and supports them in creating a high-level artistic project they can use as a part of the creative portfolio they must compile when applying for the O1-Visa. Through Creative Career Hub workshops, guidance and mentoring from alumni artists, one-on-one career coaching, legal seminars with experts from the renowned immigration law firm BAL, and the gift of the space and materials needed to create, students learn and internalize the necessary skills to obtain their O1-visa status and thrive in the respective industries. ISA culminates in an industry showcase that is free to the public.
ISA was created in the spring of 2024 following the award of an Innovation Grant from the Office of Student Affairs. The showcase was produced in conjunction with La Mama Presents. We are delighted to continue the program during the 2024-2025 academic year and hope you will join us next Thursday, December 5th, at the Racket NYC.
