Students from ITP & IMA Invited as Finalists to the Biodesign Challenge

Students from NYU ITP were invited as finalists to present onstage at the Parsons School of Design and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on June 13th & 14th as part of a competition called Biodesign Challenge (BDC).

BDC is a competition and education program that partners classrooms with scientists, artists, and designers to develop projects that envision how biotechnology might be used to solve global challenges. Each year, teams represent their school at the Summit and present before esteemed judges from academia, the arts, and industry to compete for prizes. This year there are 50+ teams from 15 countries.

Led by Nikita Huggins, here’s the group of finalists from ITP & IMA working on a security key generator powered by geobacter microbes: Chumou Zhang, Emily Hu, Lening Hou, Nakyung Youn, Sarah Mok, Yuntian Zhao, Lily Crandall, and Yihe Huang.
