RESIDENT RESEARCHER

Prisha Jain is a multimedia artist and performer based in New York City. Trained in Indian folk dance from a young age, her practice is centered around embodied experience. She enjoys thinking about the body as an archive and works with electronics and sound as her medium. Prisha’s previous work includes a large modular synthesizer(ish), a dance floor as an instrument, and an interactive mirror and sink. Lately, she’s been researching affordable dance technologies on a project called Physical Algorithms.

Prisha holds a B.S. in Media, Culture, and Communications from NYU Steinhardt and an MPS from NYU ITP. Prisha is currently a Research Resident at NYU ITP, continuing her explorations in electronics, audio, and the body.
