The most explosive growth in generative machine learning in the past year has been in text-to-image modeling. In this course we’ll explore various techniques to make images and videos from text prompts using Google Colab. (No coding knowledge is required, though some basic coding principles and Python knowledge may be helpful). We’ll also discuss the ethical and critical considerations of these tools, and what they may mean for the future of digital media art. The class will consist of weekly examples in Colab with a small final project of the student’s choice.
