Description

The original project connects people in different (public) spaces through dance. The indoor version will illustrate the concept. Using Kinect + Projector running a web app, IJO will send your motion information – skeleton track – to the web. People will be able to open a web page on their phones and watch the visual representation of the person dancing in front of the installation.

bodyRef provides guidance to users on how to set and accomplish fitness and nutrition goals by utilizing a team of healthcare professionals (HCPs).

Description

With the assistance of a healthcare professional, users create a health profile and allow bodyRef access to their tracked data. bodyRef will annotate data summaries provided by the tracking device. Users can then accept or reject individual annotations noted on the data summaries. Accepted annotations will trigger personalized advice from HCPs who provide medical guidance on how to achieve goals throughout the week. To start, the intended audience will be high-risk individuals such as those diagnosed with metabolic disease. Moving forward, bodyRef audiences will be expanded to special populations such as pregnant women and the elderly. Even further down the line recovering athletes will become targeted users as well.

Dovetales is a mobile application that allows couples living in different timezones to share mundane details with each other in the form of a daily story.

Description

Dovetales helps couples, as well as close friends, living in different timezones maintain strong relationships by sharing the mundane things in life. Although often overlooked, this exchange of simple details deepens intimacy. A Dovetales story consists of several frames a day that form a single story. A frame can be composed of image, text or drawing. Like a letter, once created, the frame can't be edited. It can only be deleted. And much like a storyboard, frames are chronologically ordered and time stamped in the local time of the sender. At the end of each day, one single story is sent out. It is only received once, at a time chosen by the recipient.

By constraining choice to the single most important meal in a given city, Last Eats enables you to demonstrate passion and loyalty towards the restaurants that help define you. Description

Tactus is a wearable device worn on the wrist that interprets color and sends the user a tactile response. Think of it as braille for color. Using either a smartphone or the embedded sensors on the device, color values are translated to a electromagnetic wave that creates a sensation on the users finger. The device can be used by both visually impaired people and those looking to augment their own senses. It creates a new sensory modality for the user and more importantly the ability to not only see art, but feel it.

The Amazing Interactive Memory Machine is an opportunity to experience a different perspective of Coney Island through a collection of personal histories. Visitors select a category and are transported through audio to another time.

Description

The Amazing Interactive Memory Machine (AIMM) is a site-specific vending machine that dispenses memories. Placed on the Coney Island boardwalk, visitors are invited to choose a memory by pressing a button. With each press, listeners have a new opportunity to hear stories from other New Yorkers, stories about things that have changed or that persist despite change. At the conclusion of each story, a souvenir receipt prints out. Listeners can contribute to the machine by calling and leaving their memories on a voicemail system. AIMM offers a personal perspective of an historical place and an opportunity for unexpected experiences.
