A musical installation that reacts to the rhythm and proximity of movement through suspended resonant structures.

Description

Resonant frequency was built around the idea that every day is a performance. The goal was to create a musical installation that takes advantage of easy and intuitive movements that have been programmed into our subconsciousness through daily ritual. When a person enters the space, the sound of each footstep is captured and amplified into the body. A second layer is added with arm gestures to resonate the objects decorated throughout the space. The careful consideration of construction brings musicality. The change in tones encourages movement. Depending on the order of how a person swipes, holds, or places their arm, new compositions can be made. Everything is connected physically in a “feedback loop”.
