Data visualisation: reimagined. Persistence of vision (POV) creates optical illusion of 3D globe with data points.

https://github.com/xoxoaseka/globe

Description

Persistence of vision (POV) is an optical illusion that occurs when visual perception of an object does not cease for some time after the rays of light proceeding from it have ceased to enter the eye. Project uses this effect to create a new way of data visualization of geographic data. It can be as well used as animations display instead of conventional monitors.

https://itp.blog.afrikatoday.com/moving-lights

Main Project Image

Description

Moving lights is a jewelry set – earrings, a sash, as well as a headpiece that will light up when a person moves. It is meant to accessorize a dancer or person in theater's movement during a performance. This set is made up of Swarovski crystals, embellished with led lights, as well as vibration sensors. This design holds other possibilities, as in the future it can be reworked to be used in accessible designs, especially for those who may not have use of their arms, but can use their chest and neck to communicate.
