Narciso

David Azar

Narciso is an AR mirror that doesn't let you catch your own reflection.

Description

Narciso started as a project to do a comment on vanity. The idea is that, people are only able to catch their reflection for a few moments before the mirror blocks it from them. It works by having a screen behind a two-way mirror and a RealSense camera facing the user. The depth data goes into openFrameworks were tracking and drawing algorithms happen.

Narciso explores AR away from a phone or tablet, and grounds people in the physical world, but augments their experience through a noble use of technology.

At the moment, the tracking is working. In the coming weeks I'll build a mirror-like enclosure and code a few more effects.
