In this spacial time, many of us were trapped in our houses and were not able to return to the campus. Through this project, I want to make miniature version of the things that we miss the most in our campus together,to bging back the memory of being on campus to the users/players.Through some interviews with my friends where I ask them what place or thing do they miss about ab, I gathered their answers and selected several things that I will use different fabrication methods to recreate.

In this interactive game, the user can control the two stars to move left and right. When the two stars are close to each other, they can fly up together.

Description

This project, Gemini is an interactive game. The user can control the two stars respectively with pressing right arrow, left arrow, and A, D to move them to left or right. However, the user can’t control the stars to go up or down. When the two stars are close to each other, there would be an upward force to make them fly upwards. On the contrary, when the distance between these two stars becomes larger than a certain value, the upward force will disappear and the stars will start to fall down. The stars may also be attracted by the gravitational force of the planets. When the blue star, which is larger, reaches the planets, that planet will be lit up.

Description

The Light is a game in which players move their hands to control mirrors and change directions of light beams in a virtual space. There is a board with light sensors, and the shadows will form mirrors that reflect light beams, and the goal of the game is to reflect the light beam to a certain point. Arduino was used to sense the shadows and Processing was used to create the “virtual space”.

Description

My project is a mobile game app for the iPhone. KeyLang is meant to train users how to type more fluently in a different language on the phone keyboard. However, it also allows users to practice the second, third, or even fourth language they’re learning. The app offers 3 modes: learn, practice, and speed. In learning mode, users can become familiar with the language keyboard they choose. Once they’ve learned the keyboard, they can move onto the practice games, where they simply practice what they have learned. After completing the practice mode, they can test the speed of their typing in a speed typing game that measures their speed and typing accuracy.

Description

东南西北 refers to an origami game that I used to play when I was a kid.

This project is aiming at expressing a kind of nostalgia and share old happiness with my audience. During my further research, I found out that this origami game has some fortune-telling meaning in some Western cultures. Therefore, I created an interactive experience in which the audience can ask any question, and the origami will offer the answer. I was trying to rebuild my memory of those good old days with new ideas of interaction based on the combination of different cultures.

The earlier version only allowed users to play from one device, but we can't do that anymore in this difficult situation as everyone is in different places. Description

Racing Motorcycle is a game that aims to provide users an interesting interactive experience. Wearing a special helmet, users could control the motorcycle on the screen by tipping their heads to avoid the obstacles on the road and gain scores.

The project is based on the race games on the phone, where we turn the phone to control the direction of a car. However, Racing Motorcycle applies a new way of interaction. Controlling the motorcycle by tipping the head imitates the true situation when a motorcycle driver tips his body to change the direction. The design also makes the experience more interesting and unique.

Rules:

– Tip your head to left, right or upright direction to control the motorcycle and avoid the obstacles.

– Stay your head tipped to keep the motorcycle running in a certain lane.

– The longer you go through, the higher score you will get.

It's an entertaining project using the Posenet to detect the motion of the user and the user can hit the falling letters in the sequence of the alphabet by the wrists. The more letters the user could hit correctly, the more scores the user can get. And the user can compete with other users with the final scores.

Description

The project I picked is adapted from the famous novel Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Although it’s a novel repeatedly recomposed by many writers or movie makers, I want to use the web browser to create an interactive experience for others to take part in Alice’s choices and really get to know how simple, erudite, and full of imagination Alice is. I believe Alice In Wonderland is not just a fairytale or merely a book for children. Russell once quotes it many times to illustrate profound philosophical questions. Though being adults, we shouldn’t lose our initial curiosity about the world. This is what I try to convey by incorporating users’ choices in Alice’s own story. Therefore, I’m going to create various options for different scenarios, most of which unexpected or need users to jump out of the box to get the correct answer. The two central themes that I want to convey through creating a fairy-tale-like atmosphere is: dream and reality have no black-and-white boundary; never forget where we started and always remember to be curious and innocent.
