Interactive audio/visual music box that is generated through human physical tempo

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1z1c6iUwrd57mBM96WneIy1IEF1-4NjQP?usp=sharing

Description

Musical Gear Table is a PCOMP / ICM Final. It is a musical / visual experience Which draws inspiration from physical/mechanical music boxes and gives it a digital interpretation. The user assigns different musical patterns to six different instruments through digital inputs and rotates the physical gear to produce sound. The digital layer is projected on the physical gears and gives it a unique visualization.

Float between what was and what could have been on November 8th, 2016, as three young women would remain as always, indestructible

http://www.maispace.space/2017/11/14/sphere/

Main Project Image

Description

Spherescape is about mixing reality and fantasy, weaving between two hypothetical worlds in the blink of an eye in a floating lantern viewing pod. On November 8th, 2016, two diverging scenarios emerge as three young women celebrate on a rooftop. In one, they are a united force that strengthen one another as they brace themselves for a challenging future. In the other, they relish in an epic historic moment as the election of the first female president of the U.S. is announced. Spherescape is an exploration of the gap between traditional viewing experiences and emerging immersive formats, as well as between our memories and hopes.

YOGAR is a Mixed Reality gamified yoga app for Hololens.

https://youtu.be/332LDx6smno

Main Project Image

Description

Many people failed to study yoga at home through watching Youtube videos and mobile apps, even with Xbox Kinect technology. All of this existing ways to self-learn yoga require users to focus on a screen instead of on body movement, which is against yoga’s philosophy – gaining inner strength.

YOGAR app is designed to let people study yoga in an augmented environment for the first time. It provides a true interaction in familiar space with a calming, spatial illusion.

When you feel like doing yoga at home, wear your Hololens and begin the session. You will see marks in space, hear audio instructions, and watch as relaxing videos guide you into the correct pose.

It will take a few years before the market for MR applications starts to take off. This tool can be a sneak peak of the future.

Enter the mind of a monk in our pan-sensory brain entrainment dome.

http://www.xujenna.com/itp_blog/category/sem-1-finals/

Main Project Image Main Project Image

Description

Meditation requires years of practice to be fruitful, but entrainment may be a shortcut to less stress. Our dome is an immersion into in a four-minute, pan-sensory experience that we hope will reproduce the brain activity found in advanced meditation practitioners. Users wear a headset that measures their brain activity during the session, so they will be able to see how the experience affected their brainwaves afterwards.

Explore the darkness of the universe with a brave heart!

https://

Main Project Image

Description

I play games a lot but I am so used to keyboards and joysticks. I was thinking how fun it would be if video games had more interactivity.

I watch movies a lot and I am a fan of Star Trek. Into the Darkness is one of my favorite sequel. So I decided to make a game with space elements and physical interactions.

I believe it would be best and intuitive for players to control a spaceship on the screen with a physical spaceship in the real world. In my project, players will explore the dangerous and mysterious space with their wit and mind. I used distance sensor to detect the altitude of the spaceship and map it into the three.js program.

Space is an eternal subject for humans so I believe my project would interest lots of people!

Thank you for your time and I would be really appreciated if my project is chosen.

A fun way to create your own abstract digital 3D art using physical controls<br />

https://wp.nyu.edu/tisch-rebeccaskurnik/2017/12/06/itp-winter-show/

Main Project Image

Description

I wanted to create a fun medium where people can create their own abstract digital video art in 3D.

How it works:
Structured as a retro old school arcade game, the first step is for players to select a set of their 3D abstract video from 4 different 3D sets that I created. The next step is for player to select an abstract background music for their 3D abstract video from 4 different songs that Lu Wang, my classmate composed and allowed me to borrow for this project. Once players have selected both the set and music of their piece, they can then manipulate (change and/or add) elements in their set. There are 6 different potentiometers that change 6 different elements in each video set. It’s up to players to play and figure out which potentiometers control which elements in their video, and create their own art accordingly.

For example, players can change the color of their set by turning one potentiometer, or add a bunch of 3D toilets to their video by turning another potentiometer.

Gamifying Personal Finance

https://keerthanapareddy.com/2017/12/06/gamifying-personal-finance/

Main Project Image

Description

Our Project is an arcade game that aims to teach users about personal finance. It has 3 levels that can be played in the time span of 15mins. Users are given specific goals in each level. As they go through the game, the game presents them with real life and emergency scenarios. They have to manage their savings and debt by making the right choice. Hence, managing the two balloons that represent debt and savings.

A set VR experiences to reflect on the sociopolitical aspects of everyday sexism

https://github.com/nicolaspe/everyday_windows

Main Project Image

Description

Sexism, harassment, abuse… They all have been historically regarded as personal issues, relegating them from the public discussion, and diverting attention of their status as sociopolitical systemic problems. We want to show what happens behind the doors (or windows, in this case), what women go through and how society as a whole contributes to the expansion of these issues.

Guided by the prompt “touch a window and use me to explore the stories behind” under a VR Cardboard, users select a window -lined with conductive fabric and wired with a capacitive sensor- which lights up the room showing the shadows of the characters inside. Then, the specific scene loads in the VR headset, so the users can immerse themselves in the daily experience the character goes through.

A playful way to try out different cultural outfits digitally.

https://alpha.editor.p5js.org/Anita1nyu/sketches/HkWGFdBbfhttps://

Main Project Image

Description

Mine is a fun project.
It is an opportunity to see how you would look dressed up in traditional attire from a different country.
The idea is to have a person stand in front of the computer camera, have their picture taken, then make an outfit selection from countries from around the world. There is an option for gender, where your picture is dressed up in female or male outfit.

Right now, my project is almost complete with only the background and picture size needing adjustments for proper fitting.

I also hope to create a way to save the images for future use.

I think it is a great way to find out more about different cultures and hopefully, identify with them even only for a moment.
