This is the AR sound experience. From my AR class – Magic Window Mixed-Up reality, we discussed mixed reality which is between reality and virtual reality. Throughout practicing different types of augmented reality, I have become interested in virtual sound. Sound exists in the real space but we cannot see. Supposing a room is full of sounds and only we can hear through this application, it will be awesome.
In most cases of building an AR project, making targets is necessary. Targets can be either images or 3D objects, which work as the trigger of showing the virtual objects. However, the virtual object that can be displayed corresponding to the target needs to be set in advance, which means that one target corresponds to one fixed virtual object. In our project, we want to explore a new way to step into AR. Instead of using a limited number of targets, users can draw whatever they want and see the augmented drawing in AR. Using image recognition, Poly API, and ARKit, this App is able to turn a 2D drawing into a 3D virtual object. The virtual object can also react with the real-world environment changes.
Don't hesitate when you customize your sneakers by AR!
This is a mobile AR experience that enables people to do customizing their sneakers more easily. During having a number of interviews with sneaker-heads, we realized that they have been hesitating to paint or paste some elements to their sneakers. Moreover, customizing sneakers is not easy in reality in terms of time, cost consuming and artistic output. Consequently, we believe our projects will be a great solution for them, augmenting reality which enables them to custom their shoes without any hesitations. This experience is a new way that allows users to try physical interaction with real objects by AR.
