Description

This is a robot hand which can go through extreme geographical situations and rescue people or does other tough tasks which human are not able to get access in person.

To make the hand mimic the human biological movement, there will be a receiving arm ties to the user’s arm and send the joint move and the grip pressure to the computer. There will also be an acting arm made of special materials that can get through all kinds of tough situations and do the task on the scene. The acting arm will also and has a camera attached sending the real-time video to the computer. The computer will show the current scene of the acting arm to the user, the user can adjust their following movement according to the real-time reflection.

However, in this project, I am not going to build an acting arm, but I will show the corresponding scene by sketching it out by Processing.

Description

Shadow Puppetry is one of the intangible cultural heritages that has history of over thousands of years. My project is based on the performance of shadow puppet but put it in a more interact way that audience can control the whole performance themselves, which is different from the traditional counterpart that the controller has to be behind the scene.

I use the Ultrasonic Ranger to detect the distance from audience to the sensor so that the servo motor will move the shadow puppet as well. In this way we can see the performance of the shadow puppet and performance along with it as well. As for the set up, my project will be put in a dark room with only light on the puppet. We are able to see audience's shadow as well. Moreover, there will also be a background music and it can change its volume due to the movement of the audience.

Description

“Escape Room” is a video game consisting of a controller which looks like a flashlight, allowing players to navigate multiple virtual rooms on screen. A player is locked in a room when the game starts. Only when the player collects all the clues from the room can proceed to the next room to escape the rooms in the end. Built with Arduino and Processing, players interact with the game using the two knobs and a button on the flashlight controller, replacing the conventional mode of playing a game. Clues will show up when both intensity value and halo size value are a correct range. To help users make correct adjustments, there are hints on the upper left corner suggesting whether the two values are in correct range or not. In addition, this game uses images and theme music from Harry Potter to create a more immersive experience. Hope you have a pleasant journey.
