Description

This project mainly shows four stages during the life of Sanyu, with “four seasons” as a metaphor. For those who may never hear about this name, Sanyu is kinda like a Chinese Van Gogh, who spent most of his life in poor and unappreciated condition, but still left lots of art pieces that have been given high credit to by posterity. The main purpose of this project is to share an experience from Sanyu’s life with the users. When you’re watching those paintings of his, you would also listen to audios that uncover his life and thus have a better understanding of his personality and what he’s undergone.

You will be taken to his computer…to find out the truth.

This interactive documentary takes you to the mysterious case of Skai Qin, an unemployed young man who is suspected that he brutally murdered his roommate, Ian. However, after the police detective, Darren Chu, found out that they look exactly identical, things started to become more and more out of control.

Greatly inspired by the popular game “Her Story”, this interactive “mockumentary” brings you to the computer screen of the detective Darren Chu. With each click triggering the next move, you will be guided to find out the truth, or not.

IMPORTANT NOTE: IF IT DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK AFTER CLICKING “INVESTIGATE”, TRY REFRESH SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN SMASH YOUR MOUSE BUTTON.

Description

For this project, I created a soundscape that described the life of a blind girl to the audience. I drew three maps of the rooms in her house by myself. The three maps showed to the audience is actually three buttons. Therefore, the audience can choose which space they would like to explore first on their own. After the audience clicks the button and goes into that specific space, they will be shown a bigger map so that they will feel like they are really in that room. And in each room, I inserted at least 3 sound clips on different objects for the audience to trigger by themselves. In the following, I would like to explain the sound that I inserted, my central idea, and the future development that I can have based on the suggestions given by my classmates and professors.
