Disaster Boat!

Disaster Boat! is a video-and-cardboard construction that tells the story of a sea adventure gone awry.

Disaster Boat! is a video sculpture that balances anxiety and playfulness, reproducing the voyeuristic satisfaction of a 1970s epic disaster movie experience with a makeshift grade-school-diorama aesthetic.

i dream of…

Clouds come to inhabit unlikely places as the literal world begins to blend with the world of people\'s desires..

What object, what place, symbolizes your dreams, your ideal escape? A trail of clouds seen indoors is pleasant enough. Look closer, though, and small items on top of the clouds become visible only when you crane and nook your neck in the right direction or use a ladder...CONTINUE READING »

chickabiddy

Chickabiddy is a small interactive toy that responds to users.

\"chickabiddy\" is my attempt to create an interactive toy that responds to users.

Inspired by tumble dolls, chickabiddy is an egg-like toy that users can roll, touch, throw or shake, and an animated chick supposedly inside of the egg will move, bounce, fly or even peep depending on...CONTINUE READING »

Little Protests

Banning websites because of their content is a very common kind of censorship in many countries like Turkey and China. I am subverting this ban by displaying a list of websites and their content. Also by printing the content in an unexpected way and sending them to these countries by various sneaky methods like using fortune cookies.

I am creating a little printer and a little screen which displays a list of banned websites from China and Turkey. It has a switch which lets you start printing the content of these banned webpages. You can take away these little papers or use one of the pen caps...CONTINUE READING »

Anti-Paparazzi Fashion

Interactive anti-paparazzi clutch bag.

In response to the rise of paparazzi I\'ve created an interactive clutch bag that communicates the desire to not be photographed. When it detects a camera flash it responds with another flash that obscures the photo. I think it\'s important for everyone to realize the worth of their own image...CONTINUE READING »

25¢

A project which creates a space for people to share and communicate with one another: engaging the viewer using mediated intimacy, calling upon nostalgia and vulnerability through a \"grown-up\" mimicry of the language (and pleasure) of \"throw-away\" coin-operated entertainment.

A stand of 3 coin-operated gumball machines acts as interface for the viewer. The audience is called to make a normally incidental, \"sidelines\" object the focus. This \"throw-away\" entertainment in fact holds some vulnerable information, though the entire \"keys\" to the interaction fit in your palm.

The first machine,...CONTINUE READING »

How Much Water Do You Use?

Examine the implications of your daily water consumption habits, and find out how to avoid excessive use.

Excessive consumption of water creates shortages that lead to individual difficulties as well as social problems, and disproportionate demand incurs high costs, especially to the environment. Unchecked water procurement can cause irreparable damage to local ecosystems, and water related problems have long term economic and political implications.
Adjusting habits and...CONTINUE READING »
