Fall ’26 Class Dates & Deadlines

09/02/26Fa26 Classes Begin
09/07/26Labor Day (University Holiday – no classes scheduled / University offices are closed)
09/08/267W1 Add/Drop Deadline:
– Last day to add/drop/swap 7W1 session classes in Albert
– Last day to drop a 7W1 session class and not receive a grade of ‘W’
– Last day to drop a 7W1 session class and receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees (for late-starting courses – see below) (for complete withdrawals – see the Refund Schedule below)
09/15/2614W Add/Drop Deadline:
– Last day to add/drop/swap 14W session classes in Albert
– Last day to drop a 14W session class and not receive a grade of ‘W’
– Last day to drop a 14W session class and receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees (for late-starting courses – see below) (for complete withdrawals – see the Refund Schedule below)
10/09/267W1 Withdrawal Deadline:
– First 7-Week session request to pass/fail (for UG classes) or Withdrawal deadline
10/12/26Fall Break – no classes scheduled, but administrative offices are open
10/14/26Legislative Monday: Classes will meet on a Monday schedule
10/22/26Second 7-Week session classes begin
10/28/267W2 Add/Drop Deadline:
– Last day to add/drop/swap 7W2 session classes in Albert
– Last day to drop a 7W2 session class and not receive a grade of ‘W’

11/1/26Spring 2027 grads apply for graduation in Albert
11/25/2614W / 7W2 Withdrawal Deadline:
– Last day to withdraw from 14W / 7W2 classes (with ‘W’ / no refund)

11/27/26		Thanksgiving Recess (University Holiday – no classes scheduled / University offices are closed)
12/14/26Last Day of Fa26 Classes
12/16/26 – 12/22/26Undergrad final exam period
12/18/26 & 12/19/26ITP/IMA Winter Show
12/23/26 – 1/18/26Official Winter Recess
1/19/26Spring 2027 semester begins

For 1 credit classes, students can drop BEFORE the day before the class begins without a W. Students can drop the day of the class with a W. Students can no longer drop the class once it’s completed.

Refund Schedule for Complete Withdrawals:

For a complete withdrawal [withdrawing from all NYU classes for the term — meaning a leave of absence (can only be requested in weeks 1-2 of the semester in question), or a total withdrawal from the ITP / IMA programs] please see the Refund Schedule, which is published here.
