JOB: Wiki/Webmaster, NYC

The World Wide Workshop Foundation (www.worldwideworkshop.org) seeks a full time, entry-level Wiki/Webmaster to help develop and maintain a unique digital learning platform and social network that empowers youth to learn game development and Web 2.0 skills, and to experience facets of leadership, economic development, and globalization.

The Wiki/Webmaster is a generalist with very good working knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS and Photoshop. This person is also an enthusiastic user of Web 2.0 tools, including wikis, blogs and social networking sites. S/he will manage the websites and wikis that make up our open source learning platform, and will experiment with and implement models (i.e. ready-made wiki extensions) for improving it. S/he will learn to build Flash games with our program, and will be trained to provide virtual tech support to educators and youth who use it.

The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker with a solid base of web production and administration skills, a joy for learning and experimentation, and impeccable attention to detail. S/he will thrive in a fast-paced, highly-collaborative, start-up environment. Position reports to the Product Manager. Some travel may be required. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:
· Evaluate and help improve our wiki and website-based learning platform
· Research, test and recommend wiki extensions and other enhancements
· Work with Product Development team to build, test and maintain new platform features
· Handle non-specialist programming and database management tasks
* Install and configure new hardware and software
· Handle ongoing site and wiki maintenance, including regular system backups
· Handle emergency technology issues (working with specialists as needed)
* Create system documentation and written support materials ( i.e. tutorials and FAQs)
* Create a Flash game using the program and support/interact with other learners
* Communicate in a timely manner with team and partners

Highly-qualified candidates will have:
· Very good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, Photoshop
· Experience using MySQL databases (Experience setting them up a plus)
· Experience making wiki pages
· Full fluency with productivity tools like MS Office
· Ability to quickly learn new software/hardware systems
* BA/BS in related field, or equivalent Tech-industry work experience
· Excellent research and problem solving skills
· Excellent communication, writing and people skills
· Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
· Ability to work well independently and with a team
· Experience working with schools, educators and youth is a plus
