Job Description:
The Senior Producer supports Gamelab=
by leading and supporting the production of games and their associated proj=
ect teams within an Agile (Scrum) framework. The Senior Producer has proven =
experience delivering high quality commercial games and working with on-site=
teams of artists, designers, audio engineers, and programmers. He or =
she will be responsible for managing multiple simultaneous projects. O=
ther day-to-day responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Understanding the lead game designer’s creative vision for the game=
and driving the team towards fulfillment thereof Creating and main=
taining production plans and related documents Facilitating effecti=
ve communication and development within project teams
Interfacing between project teams and upper management, clients, publis=
hers, and/or other “external” partners. Managing, maintaining, and =
negotiating internal and external expectations of project goals (design, pro=
duction quality, scope, market, timeline, etc.)
Advocating for both short- and long-term project needs such as rapid it=
eration, schedule or scope redefinitions, additional playtesting, localizati=
on or ESRB considerations, etc. Strategically prioritizing feature =
development based on market considerations, team capacity, and risks
Anticipating and troubleshooting development risks, feature creep, and =
other development pitfalls, suggesting creative contingency plans as necessa=
ry Triaging input from many parties and translating it into action =
items
Delegating tasks as needed to associate producers, other team members, =
or other departments within Gamelab.
Desired Expe=
rience and Skills:
Ability to excel in the responsibilities o=
utlined above with little mentorship, training, or management.
College diploma or equivalent work experience Minimum of 2 yea=
rs in Producer role in digital content production (experience in game develo=
pment is a plus) Attention to details is a must Ability to=
work collaboratively, multitask, and develop new skills as needed
Friendly but firm personality Articulate and concise writing a=
nd speaking skills Ability to communicate effectively with programm=
ers, visual designers, game designers, and audio engineers Proficie=
ncy with management programs like Word, Excel, Wiki, and SVN (Jira for issue=
tracking is a plus)
Professional yet fun attitude Experience with Scrum is not req=
uired but is a huge plus.
