Information Architect

Reports to: Director, Product Development
Job Summary:
The Information Architect’s role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and
validate the business needs with key stakeholders across the business and
work with developers to define and document business and data
requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement
statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable,
feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards.
* Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements
workshops, storyboards, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases,
scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis,
task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints.
* Meet with business owners to gather user requirements
* Collaborate to develop user mental models, navigation structures, and
detailed wireframes to demonstrate concepts and solutions to stakeholders
and project teams
* Be ready to work independently in a less structured environment as well
as collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams
* Participate in user research/user testing
Qualification/Experience Requirements:
* 3-5 years business analysis and/or information architecture experience
in a web development environment.
* Proven track record in gathering and documenting quality business
requirements.
* Experience gathering requirements on existing complex and cross
functional business processes with multiple system interfaces.
* User interface design experience, adhering to Web design standards.
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and strong attention to
details. Ability to support multiple projects concurrently. A portfolio of
user flows, site maps and wireframes
* Knowledge of UCD process, methodology and best practices
* Ability to ask appropriate questions and communicate effectively and
persuasively to convey solutions to a broad range of stakeholders: Product
mangers, Business Analysts, developers, etc.
* Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills
* Excellent written, oral and diagrammatic communication skills
* Any experience with Vignette 7 highly desirable
* Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of HTML, XML, CSS,
JavaScript, Ajax, Flash, Flex
* Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Computer Interaction, Design or
related field
