Intern at Polski Western

Hey y’all,

Polski Western, the studio of artist Piotr Uklanski, has an intern position open that needs to be filled asap. It’s not a paid position, but you get to work with me (!) and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to an artist whose practice includes various mediums, while experiencing the internal workings of an independently run artist studio firsthand.

ARCHIVAL INTERNSHIP

Polski Western, the studio of visual artist, filmmaker, sculptor, and photographer Piotr Uklanski, seeks an archival intern for the spring, beginning mid January 2009 continuing through May 2009. The archival intern will work on projects related to Uklanski’s 12-year archival history as well as gain an exposure to aspects of independent artist studio management. The archival intern will contribute to the upkeep of the digital archive by incorporating current materials, and properly storing and organizing materials already in the archive. An interest in art and archives, and proficiency with scanning are desirable.

There is also the possibility, for the right candidate, to establish and create a custom-made database that may eventually house the archive. The archival intern is expected to work approximately 16 hours per week. All internships are unpaid and arrangements for school credit are encouraged.

To Apply: Please send your cover letter and resume to info@piotruklanski.com with “Archival Internship” in the subject line.
