Job: Multimedia Producer – NBC, NYC

Job Title: Multimedia Producer
Location: New York, New York

Role Summary/Purpose
The Multimedia Producer will be responsible for conceiving, creating,
producing and managing great visual content for NBC’s Local Integrated
Media team in New York.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include creating and managing interactive visual
content, including Flash graphics, across all Local Media websites as
overseen by the Executive Multimedia Editor.

The person selected for this position must have the ability to create,
produce and publish compelling visual presentations that will attract,
engage and help grow our audience.

The role combines strategic thinking with day-to-day execution and
editorial and project-management responsibilities across a broad
organization; it will require working with numerous peers within NBC’s
“Local Integrated Media” (LIM) team, local NBC television stations
and external content partners.

Responsibilities:
Imagine, create and publish compelling interactive content to our
Local Media sites.
Support production of local content in special-event and breaking-news
situations.
Assist in evaluating and improving current technical, content and
newsroom workflows.
Maintain relationships with both internal and external content providers.
Monitor, report and respond to audience metrics.
Develop and maintain a strong working connection with all Local Media
websites, to ensure communication, coordination and accountability for
cross-site initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
Two to four years experience working as a visual content producer or editor.
Flash animation skills including knowledge of object-oriented
Action-script programming.
Ability to implement XML in creating dynamic Flash presentations.
Knowledge of audience engagement and an understanding of website metrics.
Experience with news operations, particularly video, Flash and photo publishing.
Experience with content management and web-publishing tools.
Outstanding interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills.
Strong knowledge of emerging tools and trends in producing and
delivering graphics and multimedia packages and an alertness to
marketing and promotional trends.
Ability to perform in fast-paced environments, to shift priorities
quickly among multiple projects and to do what is necessary to “get it
done” on short notice.
Knowledge of the following specialized production software tools or
their equivalent:

Photoshop
Final Cut Pro
Soundslides
Flash / ActionScript
Basic HTML / XML
Web Metrics

Desired Qualifications:
Working experience in a newsroom within a media company.
Degree in journalism, media, communications, design, English or
equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to create original, interactive content that
serves a targeted audience generates increased traffic and sales.
