The Lead Systems Architect will assume a leading management role within the=
company and R&D team. This includes managing the infrastructure o=
f world class web applications that serve millions while managing multiple d=
ata centers and our main office. This
person will be the lead authority in the company regarding all systems issu=
es, will understand, advise and implement systems aspects of R&D product=
development and represent the needs of the systems team and plan for growth=
.
Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced, exceptional hands-on individual to c=
ome on board & lead our Systems Team.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience working with internet-based clie=
nt-server applications: A minimum of 5 years working with a company which de=
livers applications over the web in a senior position.
* Able to interact comfortably with senior management, b=
usiness units and application development teams and provide a high level of =
confidence in the reliability of systems and solutions.
* System monitoring: (NAGIOS a plus) Develop and m=
anage system monitoring infrastructure and assume responsibility for issue e=
scalation based on maintaining 100% application uptime and the parameters of=
defined service level agreements.
* Networking: Experience with hardware load balancing (C=
isco a plus), LAN infrastructure (switches, cabling), firewalls (IOS), VPNS =
and intrusion detection systems.
* System Administration: Strong Linux experience managin=
g Apache, MySQL, Samba and NFS servers is a requirement (provisioning, maint=
enance and performance tuning). Windows Server and MSSQL a plus.
* High Availability/Scalability: Good knowledge of the d=
ifferent methods of providing redundancy on many levels to ensure that appli=
cation integrity is not compromised including Linux system clustering, MySQL=
replication, component redundancy and recovery
from failure. Develop and maintain horizontal and vertical scalabilit=
y for infrastructure components.
* Vendor Relations: Work with vendors for all datacenter=
infrastructure components and manage and maintain the physical inventory.
* Content Delivery Networks: Good understanding of the f=
unction and use of a CDN in web-based applications and the ability to mainta=
in all points of integration.
* Client Relations: Act as a point of contact for client=
technical staff during the implementation phase and for any troubleshooting=
and debugging of application issues that are related to core system and inf=
rastructure. Act as technical lead for integration
with third-party systems when systems and infrastructure are involved.
* Programming: Experience with PHP a plus. Perl an=
d bash experience required.
* API: Developing specifications for and implementing AP=
