Artist As Citizen, in partnership with CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities, is working on a proposal for a digital environmental Atlas of New York City. The Atlas will exist both as an online platform, compiling data and narrative about the city and sustainability, and as an experimental set of public interactive devices, making the information and ideas more accessible to tourists and pedestrians.
While we are developing this proposal, we’d like to set up a placeholder site. We’re looking for a student or recent graduate interested in the Atlas concept for building the placeholder site, which can be kept basic — perhaps a few pages with words, images and few frills. We have a base stipend of $1000, for projected three days of work — and this can be extended if the goals merit more time. Knowledge of interaction design and programming skills in WordPress and HTML are desired.
