Title: Director of Game Development and Technology
Locations: New York-New York City
Description: Our client, a start-up company based in New York City, is seeking a Director of Game Development and Technology to drive the development of an online game
– Part-Time Flexible, Remote Position: Approximately 20 hours/week with opportunity to increase hours over time – occasional meetings in New York City
– This position will report directly to the company’s CEO/Founder
Day to Day Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with and manage the design, game development and QA teams to bring the product from concept to launch
– Create wire-frames and give direction to the user interface team
– Coordinate the engineering team to manage day-to-day development issues – identify and drive creative solutions for any problems that arise
– Contribute to the strategy and business model for the gaming platform and take ownership of the roadmap – coordinate efforts across a virtual cross-functional team
– Reconcile business and creative needs to create an inspirational product with a compelling revenue model
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
– BA required – CS/EE/Engineering degree preferred
– Experience leading product management in consumer web or game development
– Social gaming, social media or social networking experience strongly preferred
– Passion for creating fun, compelling and addictive user experiences
– Familiarity with personal finance concepts
– Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market
– Open to feedback – ability to thrive in a fast paced, constantly iterating environment
– Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail
– Comfortable in a start-up environment – can take ownership of the project and determine and execute next steps at each stage – previous start-up experience a strong plus Salary commensurate with experience
