Job Description:

(New York City Residency required within 90 days of appointment)

The successful candidate will serve as an Online Content Manager reporting to the 311 Citizen Service Center.

Responsibilities will include:

– Oversee 311 Online content strategy, standards, design and development;

– Serve as a 311 Online spokesperson and advocate;

– Work collaboratively to develop a clear and workable vision for the site;

– Articulate vision to stakeholders in meetings, presentations and documented materials;

– Provide content expertise and support for 311 Online content project work;

– Write, edit and approve content;

– Coordinate 311 Online homepage elements and My 311;

– Work with Interwoven Portal and Content and Agency Relations teams to ensure that content is accurate, consistent and efficiently maintained across channels;

– Evaluate content’s effectiveness using reporting and feedback from customers and agencies;

– Establish, maintain, document and train on content strategy, standards, and procedures;

– Develop and establish readiness procedures to ensure rapid response to content changes;

– Prepare senior level reports and coordinate special 311 Content projects as assigned.

Essential Skills:

– BA in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field;

– 2+ years experience working on web content and strategy;

– Strong web knowledge;

– Experience with web design, usability and best practices;

– Editorial savvy;

– Ability to write and edit user-focused , task-oriented content that is easy to navigate, read and understand;

– Commitment to consistency in style, tone and format;

– Technical savvy;

– Experience with TeamSite and CSMS;

– Ability to quickly learn software tools as needed;

– Experience with social media tools and landscape;

– Leadership and project management skills;

– Ability to establish and articulate a vision, goals and project plans;

– Equal ease working independently and collaboratively;

– Willingness to work outside normal business hours to update content when needed;

– Demonstrated experience working with technical and non-technical staff;

– Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint;

– Outstanding team building skills;

– Strong written and verbal communication skills;

– Excellent analytic, organization, presentation and facilitation skills;

– Ability to coordinate multiple tasks under tight deadlines;

– The ability to interface with executive level management and give senior level presentations.

Requirements:

BA/BS and 4 years related experience in a supervisory capacity.
