[JOB] UX Lead

Position Summary:

The User Experience Lead is responsible for the management and execution of the user experience, visual design, information architecture, interaction design and usability direction for the new FA Desktop, also called 3D.  The FA Desktop is the primary application that financial advisors use to manage their business and includes a CRM, data visualization of an FA’s practice/portfolio, and tools to help service their clients.

Experience:

10-15 years of industry experience in a well established UX role with emphasis on user interface design for complex, data-driven websites and/or applications.  Financial services experience a plus.

Skills:

Ability to lead and provide direction to a team of UX and visual designers and consults (EMC) to deliver a new application system for financial advisors:

– Interpret and extend MSSB Brand and UX standards

– Lead Conceptual Design efforts

– Provide design direction and create visual treatments

– Collaborate closely with the FA Desktop team and business partners throughout the organization (e.g., Marketing, focus groups of Financial Advisors)

– Impeccable standards of delivery for him/herself and team

– Experience in: Microsoft Office and any of the following: Visio, Axure, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign

– Excellent analytical and process-oriented skills

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills

– Ability to oversee multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and ensure deadlines are met

– Motivates others and exhibits a positive attitude

Job Responsibilities:

– Oversee redesign options for 3D:

* Provide IA / design and usability direction to the design firm as they create design options, under tight timeframes

* Assess and help to select the final design option

* Create plans for extending the final design direction to the full application

– Lead / participate in executing plans for extending the redesign option to the rest of 3D

* Assess design firms to assist in extending the redesign option selected to the rest of 3D

* Lead redesign effort for relevant wireframes / visual design

– Lead usability sessions with stakeholders and end users

– Lead visual design UAT and QA.  Ensure development / execution follows design requirements

– 3D UX SME – guide consultants, knowledge transfer / retention as consultants come and go
