Howdy folks! Local Projects is looking for an additional freelance frontend dev to do highend html+css+javascript (jquery) for a really cool new site. You’d be working directly alongside ME! WOO!! And as such, an appreciation for / obsession with Star Trek: The Next Generation is a big plus. HAR!! (No, sorry, the site doesn’t have anything to do with that. Just me.)

Freelance Position
Local Projects is currently seeking an expert front-end web developer. This position would be focused on creating modern, standards-based interfaces for the web and mobile web.
We are currently engaged in a number of challenging, high-profile projects primarily for museum and public sector clients. This is a chance to do meaningful, challenging work in an environment that encourages both risk taking and excellence. Local Projects is a two-time finalist for the National Design Awards. Our new stream of work, from the Guggenheim to the 9/11 Memorial Museum and many others, promises a lot of amazing opportunities.
Technical Requirements:
Candidates should be passionate about well-made interfaces and be able to collaborate with designers as well as backend developers in order to create well-built, elegant and robust interfaces. We’re looking for someone who can take static comps and specs and transform them into fluid, beautiful UI.
Expert ability with advanced CSS and advanced Javascript.
Expert ability with AJAX. Expert ability with Prototype, scriptaculous, or similar libraries of your own making. Experience with Google Maps API and Facebook (FBML).
Knowledge of Django, Python, and Google App Engine a plus.
Other skills:
Ability to understand and produce detailed, quality software documentation.
Intuitive understanding of UI usability interaction design.
Good aesthetic sensibility.
Passion for keeping on top of new techniques and technologies.
