About us: GGideaLab, a Carnegie Mellon University spin-off, is founded on the principle that social networking can be more purposeful, resulting in a significantly improved user experience and a more profitable business model. Today’s systems do little beyond connecting a user with their current friends, or with acquaintances (friends of friends). Furthermore, existing companies have had limited success monetizing even the most popular sites. By combining a novel user interface with new scalable machine learning, GGideaLab is developing a system which fundamentally alters the way people connect with each other, the world around them, and how they search the web.
Requirements: We currently have multiple open positions in search of outstanding candidates with a variety of technical backgrounds, including software engineering, UI design, web design, machine learning, natural language processing and software systems. Technical skills for a successful candidate include:
- BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields
- Extensive programming experience is Javascript, AJAX, PHP, Java and/or C/C++
- Experience with web design, HTML, CSS, SQL a plus
- Experience with Facebook or Twitter apps a plus
- Experience with mobile programming (iPhone or Android) a plus
- Experience building browser extensions a plus
Strong analytical ability
