Position: UX Design Intern

Location: Seattle, WA  / Summer Internship (Paid/Housing Provided)

The Bing Design group is currently seeking a creative, driven and highly collaborative UX Design Intern who is passionate about user centered design, data visualization, information design and its possibilities to help shape the current and future experiences for Bing.

In this role, you’ll work closely with an interdisciplinary team of designers and researchers on a project for the duration of the summer internship. You will have the opportunity to influence our search experience on the web as well as on other platforms.  We’re looking for someone who pays great attention to detail, has the ability to push the boundaries of what’s technically possible, and is inspired by challenge.

You will help research, design and prototype experiences that meet high quality standards, provide specific as well as holistic solutions that can be applied across multiple areas of Bing. You will be part of a highly collaborative, energetic and passionate UX design team.

All candidates must send a portfolio or work samples along with their inquiries. Please indicate your specific roles and contributions for each project submitted as part of the portfolio.

The role & requirements:

–             Currently enrolled in school, must be returning to ITP in Fall 2011

–             Experience with visual, UI and interaction design

–             Strong visual communication skills with a dedication to detail and consistency.

–             Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as with other designers.

–             You must have strong work practices and design discipline and a proven record of delivering innovative solutions on time.

–             Highly detail-oriented with a passion for pixel perfection, self-motivated, highly organized, able to work in a team environment that is fast-paced.

–             Excellent verbal communication skills.

–             Proficient with the Adobe CS suite.

–             Experience with CSS, Jquery, html5 is a plus

Education & experience:

–             Bachelor’s degree in product design, interaction design or related field/experience.

–             Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools.
