Scope/Responsibility
While the Web Front End Developer reports directly to the VP, Director of Database Development within Strategic Operations organizationally, this role is duly accountable to the Project Manager responsible on a project basis. Responsibilities will include understanding project requirements from an interface perspective in order to create prototype designs, at the very least in html format, for approval from end users via Project Management.
Position Requirements
o Background in visual communication, web development and 3+ years of professional experience in user interface design
o Balanced Interaction Design skills (IA and UI), visual design sensibilities and an understanding of how all disciplines must exist together to create experienced design solutions
o Be proactive in making suggestions for improvements
o Fanatical attention to detail and exercise quality control in all practices
o Solid understanding of color palettes, typography, and print design principles
o Desire to constantly be better, learn new techniques and stay abreast of the latest user experience trends
o Be proactive and self-sufficient in solving problems
o Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
o Be proficient in the following:
o HTML, CSS
o Adobe Photoshop
o Microsoft Visio
o JavaScript
Specific Duties
o Produce prototype designs that are easily explained and can demonstrate the required specifications laid out in the requirements
o Collaborate in the translation of high level objectives and business requirements into functional requirements, interaction flow diagrams and wireframes
o Contribute additional value to applications above and beyond business requirements through sophisticated design
o Communicate and express ideas clearly with excellent written and verbal skills
