Rhizome seeks an exceptional, highly organized and mature candidate for a part-time graphic design internship. The Graphic Design Intern will contribute to ongoing design upkeep of theĀ Rhizome.org website, as well as work on special projects, new online initiatives, invitations, etc. The ideal candidate can work independently and quickly, under tight deadlines, and produce smart design that resonates with a set brand and mission.

The position is 8 – 16 hours per week for 3 months at the Rhizome office located in the New Museum in New York City. The intern will work with the entire Rhizome staff to develop various projects for our website and online marketing materials. This position is unpaid, but academic credit may be arranged. Internships are intended for students seeking to gain real world experience and interns may also use any designs produced over the course of the internship in their portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess strong typography, color and layout skills, have previous web design experience and currently enrolled or recently graduated from a design school/program. Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is required. Working knowledge of CSS, HTML and JavaScript is a plus.
